Light Beam Dance

​Come dance with friends in nature!

​Two months ago, a woman introduced me to a Willow tree named Dancer at Green Lake.

​Since then, I've been spending time each week dancing on the field near her with a vision of hosting a grassroots (literally) dance party on Saturdays from 11 am-2 pm.

​We will have a giant JBL tower speaker, a sign that says "Dance With Us", and smiley, radiant light beam energy that welcomes anyone walking by to join us.

​At noon, we'll facilitate short large group introductions and talk about the intentions of the space: movement, connection, respect, and joy!

​We'll close at 2 pm with a reflection question in small groups. At our first dance we asked, “What does being a light beam mean to you?” And people said:

• ​“Embodying and shining your most radiant an authentic self unapologetically”

• ​“Being a source of my own light and  my chosen distortion of light is a rainbow. All light beams are unique and yet we come from the same source like every drop of the ocean”

• ​“For me, a light beam is about the flicker. It’s not a single beam of light. It’s a flash of energy that we can channel within us. It’s like a fire and it feels like my body is dazzling. That aliveness if like a firework.”
