At Emergent, agents are not a demo. They are the product. Our platform has powered 12 million+ apps built by 10 million+ users, and a fleet of agent environments spinning up and tearing down every minute of the day. That scale forces answers to questions most teams have not hit yet: Where does an agent actually live? What infrastructure does it need? What turns a raw model into something that can plan, build, test, and ship on its own?
Inside Emergent EP2: The Life of an Agent follows a single agent through its full life: the machine it is born on, the sandbox it works in, the harness that gives it tools, context, memory, and feedback, and the deployment path that takes its work to production. No abstractions, no vendor talk. Just the engineering, from the team that runs it at scale, including what breaks and what we learned fixing it.
The first edition, Architecting Frontier Agents, was about how to design agentic systems. This one is about what happens when you actually run them.
This is not for people trying to understand what agents are. It is for people already building them, shipping them, breaking them, evaluating them, and trying to understand what it takes to make them reliable in the real world.
