

Piano Recital by Dr.Taras Filenko of Ukraine

The main concert will feature Dr. Taras Filenko alongside Kenyan artists representing diverse musical and performance traditions. The event brings together professional artists, Conservatory students and faculty, highlighting collaboration between performers and music educators.
The programme includes Muhonja, a Kenyan singer and traditional instrumentalist whose work bridges African traditional music and contemporary performance through expressive vocals and indigenous instruments.
Also performing is Ken Mwiti, a Kenyan violinist with over 15 years of experience. A member of the Enkare String Trio, he has performed across Kenya, Tanzania, Europe, and the UK, and is the Co-founder and Music Director of Chamber Music Kenya, supporting sustainable classical music careers.
The concert will further feature Brian Otieno Oloo, a dancer, choreographer, and cultural practitioner based in Kisumu. His work explores identity, community, and social issues, drawing from African traditional and contemporary dance. He is the founder of Aduwa Fiesta of Dance and the Dancing Feet Collective.
The audience can also expect a special collaborative performance symbolising the intersection of diplomacy and the arts, highlighting cultural exchange as a tool for international dialogue.
