What If You'd Chosen Differently? -- A Sci-Fi Short Story Club
Philosofriends is trying something new: a science-fiction short story book club
Science fiction has always been more than spaceships, robots, and futuristic gadgets. At its best, it's a playground for ideas, a way to explore philosophical questions by imagining worlds where the rules of reality and society are a little different.
We'll read a short sci-fi story before meeting and use it as the starting point for an open discussion.
The short story for November's book club is: Anxiety is the Dizziness of Freedom by Ted Chiang
You don't need to be a science fiction enthusiast to join. Whether you've read every book by Asimov or have never picked up a sci-fi story, you're welcome.
No lectures, no homework essays, no right answers. Just interesting stories, big questions, and good conversations.
About Philosofriends
