About Event

Join us to get to know Chayn and what we do! In this session, we'll introduce you to Chayn's free services and resources for survivors of gender-based violence, including our digital trauma support platform Bloom (bloom.chayn.co).

Who is Chayn?

Chayn is a global nonprofit, run by survivors and allies from around the world, creating resources to support the healing of survivors of gender-based violence.

We create open, online resources and services for survivors of abuse that are trauma-informed, intersectional, multilingual and feminist.

What is Bloom?

Bloom is Chayn’s award-winning trauma support platform designed to support survivors of gender-based violence in their healing and can be accessed anywhere in the world for free!

Co-created by our global team of survivors, allies, and trauma-informed therapists, Bloom contains:

  • Curated video courses on topics such as healing from sexual trauma and recovering from toxic and abusive relationships

  • Reflective activities

  • Grounding exercises

  • An affirmational WhatsApp subscription service

  • Access to our direct 1-1 messaging service

Bloom is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi and Portuguese.

Using a survivor-centred approach and an intersectional feminist lens, Bloom topics range from trauma bonding and understanding coercive control to sexuality and desire after experiencing sexual violence.

Since 2020, Chayn has supported over 500,000 survivors from over 60 countries and 97% of Bloom users would recommend the service to someone else in their position:

'The feeling that someone was there for me...I could watch the videos anytime and feel like I was part of something. I never had to worry about inconveniencing someone because I am never important enough for that. You made me feel that I belonged. That was the most important.'

About this workshop

This workshop will introduce Chayn's resources, including our trauma support platform, Bloom. We will explore how you can use Bloom in your own work and how it may be helpful for the survivors you work with.

In the workshop we will:

  • Get to know Chayn and Bloom

  • Learn about our design process, and what we’ve learnt in the process of building our digital services

  • Discuss the challenges faced by front line workers and how Bloom can help you to support survivors in their healing

  • Have opportunities for you to ask us questions about our services and resources

Who is this workshop for?

This online workshop is open to organisations from the London Survivors' Gateway. If you are not part of this partnership, do check out our other event on the 9th June here: https://lu.ma/n6jz9acw.

We absolutely welcome multiple attendees from the same organisation. There is no limit on attendees, and the event may be helpful for helpline workers, navigators, ISVAs, caseworkers, and any other frontline support worker.

We strongly suggest participants join from a computer and not a mobile device as we will be doing practical exercises together.

Who will be running the workshop?

This workshop will be facilitated by Francesca Jarvis, our Survivor Services Lead and Carolina Cal, our Survivor Services Facilitator. Both Francesca and Carolina come from frontline service backgrounds.

If you have any questions about this session, get in touch by emailing [email protected].
