Regulatory PETshop II: Agentic Commerce, Payments, and the Future of Financial Regulation
Invited Guests are asked to join USC Marshall's VanEck Digital Assets Initiative (VEDA) for Regulatory PETshop II, a workshop on privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) and what they mean for financial regulation. Held as part of DC Fintech Week 2026.
As AI agents begin to shop, pay, and transact on our behalf, regulators and builders need a shared understanding of how identity, privacy, and compliance work in practice. Together we'll dig into:
The emerging architecture of agentic commerce
What an AI agent needs to reveal: identity, authorization, and privacy by design
Where privacy breaks, and the infrastructure to fix it
AI security, risk management, and programmable compliance
Governance, accountability, and the regulatory perimeter
What regulators need next
The afternoon program is followed by a networking reception on the Penthouse and Rooftop Terrace, with views of the D.C. skyline. Refreshments will be served on arrival and at the break.
Please note: This is an invite-only event with limited capacity, and registration is subject to approval. The in-person event is held under the Chatham House Rule.
Hosted by USC VEDA. Sponsored by The Fintech Foundation, NEAR, SVRN, and Openreserve.
