👀 What is Fika? ☕ Fika is a Social Membership Club that connects compatible people for a fika, IRL, offline. Fika (fee-ka) is a Swedish 🇸🇪 word — and a way of life — for slowing down over a coffee and a genuine conversation. We believe in saying yes more and go for it, to each other and in life! 💃
🌟 Fika has no swipes. No likes. No profiles. No chat (!).
Instead, we want you to spend as little time as possible inside of the app, and only check it whenever we have someone compatible to introduce you to - for friendship and/or something more.
💡 Choose in the onboarding what you are looking for, and you'll only get introduced to people looking for the same. If you only look for friendship, we'll only introduce you to people who are also looking for friendship. If you are looking for both friendship and a relationship, we will match you for both. It will clearly be stated if the intro is for friendship and/or a potential relationship with the particular person. 😊
👭 We only match for same-gender friendship in Fika, i.e., if you are a woman looking for friendship, you will only get introduced to other women looking for friendship.
☕️ Fika is first and foremost for those looking to get out there more in real life and meet like-minded people. We do the initial vetting for you and help you actually get out there. What it leads to exactly you can figure out later, the most important thing is to show up. 😃
🤳 How does the app work? 💁♀️
Download, complete the 15-min-compatibility test, upload 6 photos, verify (we only have 100% real, vetted people) and wait to get accepted and introduced.
We run our algorithm 7 AM local time, and whenever there's someone compatible, we introduce you by showing a dynamic, individualized story telling you why the two of you are compatible and should meet on a Fika. ☕️
If you both want to meet, you confirm by paying a Fika token, and we'll set up the Fika for you. If you say yes and the other person declines, you'll get back your token. A token is only used if you're actually meeting IRL. 🙌
✨ Fika has no profiles, but we're simply like a friend who knows the both of you really well and put forward the reasons why you should meet. We have your secret sauce.
🍸 We don't want you to spend a lot of time on "optimizing" your profile (you don't even have one!), but it's more important to answer honestly to the questions, so we know who you are and what you are looking for. 👌
