​Abstract
What changes when Postgres runs on NVMe-backed storage rather than network-attached block storage? This session covers the storage characteristics that matter for transactional databases, including latency, IOPS, WAL and checkpoint behaviour, and examines performance differences through pgbench benchmarks. We also then look beyond traditional OLTP and explore how Postgres can increasingly coexist with analytical workloads.
