PPLWalk No. 07 – Beyond the Familiar

​PPLWalk is a free, monthly community photo walk in Philadelphia for photographers, videographers, and creatives of all experience levels. Every walk is built around a unique theme, intentional locations, and optional prompt cards designed to help you slow down, connect, and see the city differently.

​This walk's theme, Beyond the Familiar, invites us to explore Southwest and West Philadelphia through observation rather than landmarks. Together we’ll photograph the everyday moments that give a neighborhood its character—from storefronts and murals to conversations, architecture, and the rhythm of Baltimore Avenue.

​We’re keeping this route intentionally simple. After meeting at Alif Brew, we’ll make our way to Baltimore Avenue and spend the majority of the walk exploring the corridor at an easy pace.

​We’ll finish in Clark Park for a relaxed community kickback. Bring a blanket if you’d like, review your favorite images from the walk, connect with fellow creatives, or simply enjoy a summer afternoon together.

​Schedule

​11:00–11:15 AM — Meet at Alif Brew & Mini Mart

​Grab a coffee, meet fellow attendees, and pick up a prompt card before we head out.

​11:15 AM–12:20 PM — Baltimore Avenue

​Explore Baltimore Avenue together, photographing neighborhood life, local businesses, murals, architecture, and the everyday details that often go unnoticed.

​12:20–1:00 PM — Clark Park

​Wrap up with a group photo, relax in the park, share your favorite shots from the day, and get to know other photographers and creatives.
