About Event

Light is becoming the AI industry's most valuable material. As data centres strain under ever-larger models, copper is running out of road.

Nvidia has poured over $6 billion into optical companies since March and Europe just got its first dedicated photonics ETF.

Fraunhofer HHI builds the components this depends on, from lasers to photonic chips, in-house from wafer to packaging.

This Deep Tech Night is about turning that research into companies: five photonics and quantum startups pitching to investors, researchers and founders, hosted with OptecBB and Leap.

We are also LIVE STREAMING this event. If you can't make it in person, sign up and we'll send you the link to watch LIVE online.

Who's it for?

  • Founders building in photonics, quantum sensing, or optical interconnects

  • Investors scouting early-stage optics and quantum plays

  • Researchers exploring the jump from lab to company

  • Corporates tracking the shift away from copper

How does it work?

  • Five startups pitch to the room, an investor panel asks the hard questions, then the floor opens up

  • A quick intro to our venture lab at Fraunhofer HHI, plus a guest talk

  • Drinks before, food after

Want to pitch?
Five slots, one room of investors, researchers and founders who get what you're building. Apply below. Full line-up announced closer to the event.

Who is Silicon Allee?

Silicon Allee is the venture lab at Fraunhofer HHI, one of Europe's top applied research institutes. Through our CORE Topics, selected startups work directly with HHI's patents, researchers, and facilities, backed by our network and strategic guidance, with one goal: to get your tech developed and your first financing round closed.
