

craft club: sailor hats with emilee
at this craft club, unleash your inner child as we hand sew sailor hats using secondhand fabric. club members will choose their fabric and cut out the pattern pieces, then learn the blanket stitch and begin construction. afterwards, you are welcome to embellish your hat! 👒
no previous sewing experience is required!
meet the artist!
Emilie Yonker (born 2003, Hastings, Michigan) is an artist living in Wilmington, DE. She received a BFA in Fiber and Textiles from the College for Creative Studies in 2025. She is currently employed at the Resource Exchange in Philadelphia where she sorts donations and gently used art supplies. Emilie has taught numerous workshops at the Resource Exchange as well as At My House Shop. Emilie’s work is inspired by nostalgia and secondhand materials. She uses fiber techniques that are both traditional and experimental, combining collage methods with a spackle method she has developed.
