Connecting Climate Science and Implementation: IPCC Dialogue and Experience Sharing

The latest Synthesis Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) clearly underlines that “the choices and actions implemented in this decade will have impacts now and for thousands of years.”

These perspectives will be elaborated in this 45-minute side event at the Türkiye Pavilion, with high-level representation from multiple regions and a focus on dialogue and experience sharing in alignment with recent IPCC Expert Meetings in support of the ongoing assessment process, and the role of science and scientific findings as an essential accelerator for climate mitigation and adaptation action.

The IPCC Expert Meeting on the Methodologies, Metrics and Indicators for Assessing Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation, alongside updates from other recent IPCC Expert meetings with a thematic focus to support the ongoing assessment process of the Seventh Assessment cycle, will be featured. These include those related to agriculture, food, water, health, and an interactive atlas. Distinguished panellists will include IPCC Bureau members from Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and the South-West Pacific, and will bring related perspectives.
