About Event

A curated networking event connecting traditional TV professionals with creators and YouTube insiders to shape the future of media. Featuring speakers and special guests from within the creator economy to share insights from the inside.

One of the biggest challenges right now isn’t talent, it’s translation.

We often hear from professionals coming from traditional TV about how they’re unsure how YouTube really works: what the roles look like, where the needs are, and how to position their experience for a creator led environment.

At the same time, we hear from creators and their teams that hiring from traditional media can feel risky; that candidates may be too rooted in old systems, unfamiliar with digital-first workflows, or require more onboarding than fast-moving teams feel they can afford.

The Industry Shift exists to close that gap.

This is an in-person event designed to replace assumptions with conversations and to show that when both sides understand each other better, they can work together effectively, creatively, and at scale.

Featuring the following programming:

Harper Makowsky (Head of Production for MKBHD) will share her own story on making the transition from working in TV to now running one of the most successful YouTube operations in the space

Sarah Whittle (the brain behind billions of views at Crocs, Duolingo, Smosh & TV) will talk through all things resume writing, interviewing and practical skill building for transitioning into the creator economy

Sean Klitzner (former Chief Production Officer at MrBeast & Co-Creator/Showrunner of Beast Games) will be discussing the mindset shift needed in order to successfully transfer your skills from traditional to YouTube production.

Josh Mattingly (creator economy operator, recruiter, business builder) will be delivering a keynote, "From Hollywood Studio to Studio Apartment - How Creator Companies Really Work — and How to Break In”
