Short Story Discussion: Amnesty by Jose Y. Dalisay, Jr.

​A copy of the short story will be emailed upon registration. Participants are expected to have read the assigned reading at least once before the session.

​Participants will be organized into small groups (maximum 15) and the session will be facilitated by a volunteer UP Cebu faculty member or UP Cebu alumni. Briefly, the facilitator will explain how close reading works and depending on the story, selected narrative elements become the focus of each session. 

​Although attendance in all three sessions is not necessary, participants are encouraged to attend all sessions because the curated stories aim to show a multisectoral experience of Martial Law. By reading all three stories and by participating in all three sessions, the short story discussions hope to shed light on the stories of everyday Filipinos who experienced the horrors of Martial Law.
