The Challenge of Digital Peace-Promoting Journalism in a Contested Information Environment
The information space has become a contested domain – one in which elections are delegitimised, crises are amplified and trust in institutions is deliberately eroded, without a single shot being fired. For six years, the research and development project Media for Peace (M4P), funded by dtec.bw (BMVg, NextGen EU), has worked at the intersection of journalism, peace research and technology to understand and respond to these developments. Marking the conclusion of the project, we invite you to join us on 6 November 2026 to explore our findings and applications and test their practical potential.
What to Expect
The Showcase brings together decision-makers from ministries, the armed forces, European and allied institutions, media, business and civil society. With a deliberate departure from the traditional symposium, the day will offer a hands-on expo of research prototypes, a science slam that puts the researchers themselves on stage, an information crisis simulation as the working heart of the day, and a workshop that translates your feedback and requirements into concrete follow-on projects. The showcase is followed by a FIMI & OSINT hackathon, organized in cooperation with the European Defense Tech Hub, which you are warmly invited to join as well.
