Laws, Shared Threats, and Cyber Regulation Without Borders: What the UK’s Cyber Security and Resilience Bill Means in a Connected World
Cyber threats are constantly evolving, and governments, regulators and industry must rapidly evolve their approach to cyber risk to keep up. One approach that governments can take is regulation. The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) is hosting a session at UK House to share how the UK Cyber Security and Resilience (Network and Information Systems) Bill and the secondary legislation supporting it will strengthen national resilience.
This session explores how the UK aims to strike a balance between protecting national infrastructure whilst considering regulatory divergence for businesses operating across borders. Attendees will gain an understanding of the UK’s approach and how it aligns with international regimes.
Following a briefing and Q&A, the session will open into a discussion to provide the opportunity for industry, government, technologists and security leaders to share their perspective. Attendees will leave this session with:
An opportunity to hear about the UK approach to CNI security and resilience regulation, and in particular the new Cyber Security and Resilience (Network and Information Systems) Bill.
A high-level understanding of how the UK’s approach relates to select international models
An opportunity to share views on the Bill and its implementation.
