From Page to Stage: Table Read of a Comedy Pilot from NRDC’s Climate Storytelling Fellowship
Join NRDC’s Rewrite the Future and a lineup of incredible NYC comedians for a deep dive into climate and comedy. We’re spotlighting Bill on Earth (by Casey Rand & Sasha Stewart), a half hour comedic pilot that was selected for the 2024 NRDC Climate Storytelling Fellowship with a live table read by local actors and comedians plus a Q&A with co-writer, Casey Rand. We’re excited to bring the script to the Climate Film Festival to showcase its razor-sharp wit and compelling climate themes.
Logline: Bill on Earth by Casey Rand (The New Yorker, Reductress, McSweeney’s) & Sasha Stewart (FX’s Dying For Sex) – In this live action workplace comedy, a kind-hearted alien whose planet was blown up in a freak accident must go undercover as a corporate spy at an oil company to convince humans to stop destroying Earth — and fast — before he loses his last chance to secure his species a new home.
Featured Speakers:
Casey Rand, writer, Bill on Earth and recipient of the 2024 NRDC Climate Storytelling Fellowship
Katy Jacobs, Director, NRDC’s Entertainment Partnerships
