The Life Sciences Academy at Walter helps life sciences entrepreneurs build the business capabilities they need beyond science. Through practical lectures, case studies and coaching, participants learn how to translate scientific innovation into viable products, companies and growth strategies. The sessions are led by experienced life sciences executives and entrepreneurs, including Dr. Volker Pfahlert and Dr. Kevin Keim. The format combines structured input with hands-on examples and networking.

Session 2 —  Product Development 
Turning a scientific idea into a product requires structured development, clear customer understanding and disciplined execution. In life sciences, this process is particularly complex because product decisions are closely linked to regulation, quality, reimbursement, manufacturing and commercialization. This session introduces the fundamentals of product development for life sciences entrepreneurs. Participants will learn how to move from scientific potential to a product concept that can be tested, developed and positioned in the market. The session uses practical examples to show how product development decisions influence strategy, funding needs, timelines and company growth.
