liminal ˈlɪm·ɪ·nəl
Of or relating to a threshold; the space between what was and what has not yet become. Neither here nor there. Neither ending nor beginning.
I made these pieces during a year I knew was temporary. Liminality found me everywhere here. In the question of home; what it means to build one in a place you know you'll leave. In my identity, as a Cantonese American navigating belonging in a country that is itself navigating its own uncertain future. In pottery, a process that is nothing but thresholds: wet to leather-hard, raw to fired, formless to form.
To exist liminally is to resist resolution. To stay, for a little while longer, in the in-between.

與門檻有關，介於過去與尚未到來之間的空間。既不在這裡，也不在那裡。既非結束，也非開始。
我在一個我知道是暫時的年份裡創作了這些作品。臨界無處不在地找到了我。在關於家的叩問裡，在一個你知道終將離開的地方，「家」究竟意味著什麼。在我的身份認同裡，身為一個粵裔美國人，在一個自身也正摸索著不確定未來的島嶼上尋找歸屬。在陶藝裡，一個由門檻構成的過程：濕潤到皮革硬，生坯到燒製，無形到成形。
以臨界的姿態存在，是拒絕給出答案。是再多停留一會兒，在這之間。
