About Event

AI is in our classrooms and our living rooms, and Pittsburgh's educators and parents deserve real tools, not buzzwords.

Join us for one evening at the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh's Museum Lab designed to give teachers and families practical ways to guide the students in their lives.

Meet LEO & Meet LEA: (5:30 PM & 6:00 PM)

Join us for an introduction to Meet LEA (Learn and Explore with AI), Google Search's AI literacy program. This session will equip you with the tools to empower your family and students to navigate the digital world safely and confidently. We’ll highlight the unique controls available to customize your online experience and show you how to harness Google’s AI-powered Search features to boost productivity and spark creativity. From using the visual magic of Search Live to explore the world around you, to leveraging AI Overviews to dig deeper into new topics, we’ll demonstrate how to turn everyday learning moments into vivid, immersive explorations. Walk away with practical strategies to help young users become responsible, critical thinkers using age-appropriate technology.

Step Into the Student's Seat, maker pedagogy stations (5:30 PM onward)

Produced with Sarah Heinz House in the Museum Maker Lab, these open-ended challenge stations invite you to build, iterate, and experience continuous learning from the student's side of the table. You'll leave with shared language and activities you can use in any classroom or living room. No makerspace expeience required.

We'll close the evening with community networking and light bites. Come compare notes with fellow educators and parents who are navigating the same questions you are.

Coming early? Join our hands-on vibe coding workshop with Google at 4:00 PM at Nova Place, right next door.

This event is free and open to educators, parents, and caregivers. Produced with Sarah Heinz House, the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, and Google.
