Stream Forward Austin
Stream Forward is a practitioner conference for the people who actually run Apache Flink® in production. Engineers, architects, and business leaders gather to share what works, what broke, and what became possible with real-time streaming data.
Talks on the big screen, sound that fills the room, an experience built to match the scale of what's being built. Expect short, dense talks: architecture deep dives alongside boardroom outcomes. No theory without numbers.
Morning. The Main Feature
Practitioner talks, real business use cases, architecture deep dives, production war stories, and a panel discussion.
Afternoon. X-Stream Lab
Hands-on training guided by Ververica engineers. Small groups, whiteboard sessions, and real code. You leave with a working application and sandbox access that persists for 7 days.
What gets covered
Client stories: from data to decisions across retail, finance, logistics, and media
Apache Flink at scale: state management, checkpoint tuning, backpressure debugging, job graph optimization
Real-time AI: feature pipelines, model serving over streams, online inference
Streamhouse architecture: Flink as compute, Fluss as real-time storage, Paimon as the historical tier
Migration and modernization: moving from batch to streaming, replacing legacy ETL
Doors open at 08:30. Talks run from 09:00 to 13:00, followed by X-Stream Labs from 14:00 to 17:00. Then we switch to networking, with food and drinks until 19:00.
