【tffBerlin 2026】Director Masterclass with Networking Lunch: Filming Histories That Resist Being Remembered 導演大師課|如何拍攝不願被記得的歷史
Some histories are not forgotten. They were just never fully told.
Across his work, LAU Kek-Huat has returned to unfinished histories rooted in Taiwan, Malaysia, and Southeast Asia, tracing family memory, migration, political trauma, and lives shaped by what remains unsaid. In this masterclass, he reflects on how he approaches filmmaking when archives are incomplete, witnesses disagree, and no single language can fully explain what happened. Rather than searching for definitive answers, he asks how cinema can stay with what remains incomplete.
