CYANOTYPE WORKSHOP
BlaQueer Cyanotype Workshop w/ Pickle Nickle Press:
Join us for this Black August celebration honoring the legacy of radical printmaking through cyanotype! Participants are invited to learn the basics of cyanotype printmaking and will be able to leave with their printed objects at the end of the workshop.
Materials: Watercolor Paper (Cut to Various Sizes
(Note: We will provide watercolor paper for everyone to use. If you are bringing non-paper materials like fabric, clothing or anything larger than a sheet of copy paper we will ask that you make less prints due to drying time, space, and limited cyanotype material to share with other attendees. Be mindful that fabric materials will also need longer exposure time.)
Optional: If you want to bring your own images to turn into negatives, email them to hello@picklenickle.press ahead of the workshop so they can be printed and ready for the workshop
What to wear: Comfortable clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting dirty. Cyanotype can be a messy process! I have had my clothes permanently stained blue by cyanotype chemicals so be wary.
