Create a place-based group on Hylo & connect with the global movement of bioregional organizers
This month’s community call is about using Hylo to organize place-based groups, whether that’s a bioregion, a town, or a neighborhood. Local organizing needs a way to communicate between in-person gatherings, to share upcoming events, keep projects moving, and make decisions as a group.
We’ll look at how local groups can use Hylo to:
See members, events, and activity on a map of your region, so neighbors can find and connect with each other
Build a local culture of mutual aid through requests and offers
Make shared decisions with polls, proposals, and participatory grantmaking
Structure your group to match how they organize on the ground, with a regional group, neighborhood or city-scale subgroups, and Spaces for working groups and shared interests
Make your group discoverable on Hylo by connecting to Bioregional Commons and going public
We’ll also walk through how to set up your Hylo group for local and bioregional organizing. You’re welcome to bring questions about your own group or region, or to just come and learn.
