​Workshop 2: Building on Avalanche

​Introduction

​Avalanche Team1 is partnering with the University of Washington Blockchain Society for the second workshop in a two-part online series focused on building in the Avalanche ecosystem.

​This session builds directly on Workshop 1. While the first workshop covered foundational concepts and how Avalanche works at a high level, Workshop 2 shifts into a more technical, builder-oriented discussion. The focus is on how developers actually ship projects on Avalanche, what the builder stack looks like in practice, and how students can move from learning to launching.

​The session will also introduce Avalanche Build Games, a global builder competition designed to support serious developers with mentorship, resources, and long-term pathways in the ecosystem.

​Whether you’re exploring your first on-chain project or thinking about launching something more ambitious, this workshop is designed to help you understand what building on Avalanche looks like end-to-end.

• ​A technical overview of Avalanche’s architecture, including Layer 1s, consensus, and performance tradeoffs

• ​How Avalanche compares to other blockchain designs from a builder’s perspective

• ​Real examples of projects that have been built and supported in the ecosystem
