Building Connections is a two-hour Native American Style Flute playshop designed entirely for beginners, focused on discovering your unique voice through one of the world's most intuitive instruments.
Facilitated by Terry Mack of Peaceful Spirit Flutes, this transformative, hands-on experience uses her unique approach that gets you playing quickly—with no need to read music—as you learn to sculpt and shape sound through your breath.
🌸 What to Expect
The most important thing about playing this flute is understanding the breath and how that sculpts and shapes the sound. If you can blow out a birthday candle, you can play the flute.
This workshop demystifies the instrument from your very first breath. Through a supportive and playful environment, you will transition from a curious listener to a confident player.
🎵 What You Will Learn
The Basics of Sound Production: Learn the foundational mechanics of the flute, focusing on properly covering and sealing the holes to produce sound clearly and consistently.
Crafting Melodies: Discover how to combine notes into simple melodic phrases, allowing you to create beautiful, soulful music right from the start.
Mindful Awareness: Develop a deep connection to your breath and the flute, using the instrument as a tool for mindfulness, relaxation, and personal expression.
🧺 What to Bring
Bring your Native American Style flute if you have one. If you don’t have a flute but want to come, Terry will be providing flutes for people to use and will also have flutes available for sale.

This playshop is for beginners and curious learners with no prior musical background who want to connect with their breath, sound, and personal expression. If you can blow out a birthday candle, you can play the flute!
