Carbon Removal in Europe: What Actually Scales?

Carbon removal is moving from theory to early deployment. Direct air capture is coming online at industrial sites. Biochar is delivering the majority of durable carbon removal credits in the market today. Enhanced rock weathering is producing its first verified credits. And project developers are beginning to structure portfolios across multiple pathways for corporate buyers.

Technologies are advancing and corporates are making commitments. Yet the path to infrastructure-scale deployment remains fragmented across regulation, procurement structures, and capital availability. Which removal approaches are realistically scalable. What infrastructure must exist to support permanent removal. How to reduce capital misallocation risk as the market matures. These questions remain open.

This session brings together carbon removal operators, project developers, infrastructure capital, and corporates with procurement commitments to produce a clear system reality check: pathway by pathway, constraint by constraint.

Together, let's work through this core question: Which carbon removal pathways and infrastructure models are commercially credible and investable in Europe over the next decade?
