About Event

Everything is competing for your attention. Your employer. Your phone. The news. Your family. Your own fears. We live in a world that is structurally hostile to thinking, and most of us feel it long before we can name it. The pressure to react before we have understood. To choose before we have looked closely. To keep moving without asking whether we are moving in the right direction.

On November 10, Chisom discusses Hostile to Thinking: Finding Clarity in a World Designed to Distract You, a book about what it takes to see clearly in conditions designed to prevent it.

At its centre are the Three Clarities: Identity, Context, and Power. An indispensable practice for making sense of yourself, the world around you, and what is yours to do.

This is not a traditional book reading or launch. It is an evening of conversation, reflection and celebration. Hostile to Thinking introduces the Three Clarities, a powerful way of thinking built around three questions that provide clarity in any situation by asking:

  • Who Are You?

  • Where Are You?

  • And What Can You Actually Influence?

Together, they help you understand yourself, read the context around you, and recognise where your power actually lies. This groundbreaking book gives you a practical tool to act more decisively, strategically, and effectively, at work, in society, and in your personal life. Along the way, you will read case studies, real-life experiences, and factual analysis showing how the Three Clarities can become a practice you return to before a decision, after one, and sometimes years later.

Whether you are leading an organisation, navigating your career, raising a family, questioning your next step, or simply trying to make sense of a world that feels increasingly noisy, this book is a way to see more accurately and act with greater precision.

About the Launch

Drawing on lived experiences, workplace case studies and the Three Clarities framework — identity, context and power — Chisom explores the relationship between individual agency and the systems we move through every day.

Expect a conversation that is thoughtful, accessible and likely to stay with you long after the walk home.

And expect a celebration. Come as you are. Colourful or native attire is warmly welcomed.

Praise for Book

“I thought I was reading a standard non-fiction book. I was pleasantly wrong. Hostile to Thinking is a category defying and perspective-shifting book. It will rewire your brain and how you see the world.”

-Dr. Gilbert K. Adarkwah, Professor of Strategic Management & International Business, HEC Montréal

"Groundbreaking. A masterful, intelligent, and elegant breakdown of clear leadership. Udeze's unique three clarities framework skillfully weaves both personal, societal and professional experiences into how humans are modeled and shaped. Clarity is kindness and Udeze has written a seminally poignant book on modern leadership."
