Chapter 03
In Reflection, the Body Becomes an Echo
On August 7, 2026, Snoww's Sonic Novel — Chapter 03 will be presented at OUT Museumin San Francisco.
As the first Chinese-language queer museum, OUT Museum is more than an exhibition space. It is a place where identity, memory, desire, and perception are invited to re-emerge.
For this chapter, the Snoww team welcomes Dixon Ngai from Hong Kong, San Jose modular artist REALWARE, and Xiangqi Chen, founder of OUT Museum, into a collaborative moment that has yet to be named.
Thirty minutes before the performance begins, Snoww and Dixon Ngai will present a live improvisation. Sound and painting will unfold simultaneously, creating the prologue to the evening and inviting the audience into a shared space of perception before the main performance begins.
Sound, painting, projection, and the body no longer exist to explain one another.
Instead, they move toward each other, obscure one another, and leave traces upon one another.
This is not a performance defined by a single medium.
Rather, it is an unfolding sensory experience.
Sound becomes a form of writing.
Images become breath.
Painting becomes the trace that time leaves behind.
The body moves through it all—passing, pausing, and revealing itself.
What the audience enters is not a brightly lit stage,
but a living environment where sound, image, body, and culture continually generate one another.
