Shir Tikvah Memory Shabbat
Join JADE & Shir Tikvah for a Memory Shabbat - an evening where we welcome Shabbat around a special potluck dinner.
What makes a Memory Shabbat special? The potluck items at a Memory Shabbat all connect to the memory of a loved one who has died. After we welcome Shabbat together, we will each share about our food item and its connection to the loved one we are remembering.
Your food item can be a beloved family recipe, a favorite snack or a dish your person always made, something that they loved to eat, or a food dish that is connected to a cherished memory. Any food item that brings a special memory to mind is perfect!
Through stories, food, and time together, we’ll explore how the people we love continue to be part of our lives - and how their memories and legacies can be carried forward by the next generation.
Come ready to eat, remember, share a story, and make some new memories together.
This program is funded by the Robison Foundation for Jewish Elders and we would love to especially invite Grandparents, grandchildren, and the generations in between! Not a grandparent? Interested in attending solo? All are welcome!
