​Soul-awakening music & Tastes of Zimbabwe

​We are honoured to be hosting Anna Mudeka at Timberyard as part of Love Life Liberation 2025. Anna is a singer, multi-instrumentalist musician, and dancer born and raised in Zimbabwe. As part of the evening, Anna will premiere a specially chosen single from her forthcoming album Ruvimbo, a collection of new and traditional songs.

​Anna's music is complemented by Taste of Zimbabwe: spiced apple juice; fire roasted groundnuts; sadza ne nyama and repi; savanna fruit platter will shared around the fire.

​Inspired by her Shona roots and Bantu cultures, Anna has a passion for African dance and music traditions. She plays the ngoma drums and mbira, an ancestral instrument used in healing ceremonies. Anna shares her vibrancy through Shona music, dance and storytelling in her haunting voice with its healing, wild, enlightening and soul-soothing energies.

​Ruvimbo, Anna’s 9th album is due out in June 2025. It honours the wisdom of women and those who lead the way in their chosen paths through history. She sees her music and her voice as instruments to advocate for freedom.

​Herself a community catalyst, collaborator and creative entrepreneur, Anna celebrates the wisdom of women and campaigns for the welfare of children. She is founder of The Mudeka Foundation which raises money for disadvantaged children in Zimbabwe.
