​"In my work, lime is the material embodiment of light: it absorbs the image, protects it, and translates it into another state.

​Through repeated brushstrokes, the surface becomes an autonomous field.

​The reduction of the image does not weaken its force; it intensifies it.

​The women in LIMELIGHT are not presented through conventional likeness, but as figures of clarity, concentration, and luminous power.

​Their features dissolve, while their presence becomes stronger."

​About the artist

​Yana Lande is a Ukraine-born, New York-based multimedia artist, curator, and publisher whose work spans painting, performance, video, and sculpture, exploring themes of identity, transformation, power, and cultural memory. Her exhibitions have been presented across major art centers in the U.S. and U.K., including solo exhibitions at MIT in Boston, Grace Belgravia and The Ratiu Foundation in London, as well as exhibitions in NYC and Miami. Her work has been acquired by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and other leading cultural institutions.
