Finding Albion with Zakia Sewell
Fans of her radio show since the early NTS days, and of her writing since we first read her essay in ‘This Woman’s Work: Essays on Music’, we’ve been following Zakia Sewell’s research on the alternative, folk spirit of Britain for years.
We’re excited to welcome Zakia to Lisbon this month, for a weekender of books, music, and discussion.
On Friday, 17th July, she joins us in-store to discuss her recently published book, ‘Finding Albion’, longlisted for the Women's Prize for Non-Fiction this year, to talk myths, symbols, and finding identity beyond divisional nationalism.
Then, on Saturday, 18th July, we head to Vago (@vago.lisboa) for a late-night affair, soundtracked by Zakia.
See you soon, at the book store, on the dance floor.
