AoZukin — The Blue Hood
An Interdisciplinary Performance by Cay Izumi
A tale of desire and attachment, told through contemporary dance, spoken word, live violin, and visual elements.
Inspired by a classic Japanese tale from Ueda Akinari’s Ugetsu Monogatari, AoZukin explores the shifting boundary between the human and the demonic.
How does our inner world transform what we see? Who is perceived as a monster—and through whose eyes?
Rooted in Japanese classical literature, this New York presentation reimagines the story through collaboration across cultures and artistic disciplines.
