Hibernating Wildlife
As our UK evenings start to draw in, we thought we’d celebrate Autumn by getting cosy and drawing those creatures who will be hibernating for the colder months. Hibernating animals will turn down their metabolisms to save energy allowing them to endure cold temperatures and food scarcity. Many creatures, from tiny insects to large mammals can hibernate, ranging from a few days to 11 months. And there is even the equivalent process to hibernation for animals in hot climates that are trying to escape extreme heat or drought!
Grab yourself a lovely mug of your favourite hot beverage along with your sketchbook and join us to learn more about the animals that employ this fascinating survival strategy.
On screen you will see imagery with timers for your reference. We will warm up with a few quick studies and then gradually slow down for you to get lost into. Always expect a warm welcome, creative company and chat. There is no pressure to talk or have your camera on. This is a safe space to feel comfortable and for every one of all abilities.
Come and explore our sleeping wildlife with us on Wednesday October 8th at 7pm BST.
We can’t wait to see you there!
