About Event

Join us for a thoughtful conversation on contemporary visual art and the realities of building a career as an artist.

This virtual session brings together three established Iranian artists working in the contemporary art space to share insight into their creative practices and professional journeys. The event will begin with short presentations of each artist’s work, offering a closer look at their visual language, materials, and conceptual approach. This will be followed by a discussion on how their practices have evolved over time, their experiences with formal training, and the challenges of sustaining a career in today’s art world.

Featuring:

Helia Pouyanfar — Contemporary Visual Artist, BA in Art Practice (UC Berkeley), MFA in Art Studio (UC Davis)
Farshid Bazmandegan — Contemporary Visual Artist, BA in Visual Arts (UC San Diego), MFA in Sculpture (UCLA)
Roksana Pirouzmand — Contemporary Visual Artist, BFA (California Institute of the Arts), MFA (UCLA)

Our panelists will also reflect on the broader realities of navigating the contemporary art landscape, offering perspective on creative development, industry challenges, and the process of building a sustainable artistic practice.

Whether you are an aspiring artist or simply interested in engaging more deeply with contemporary art, this session offers valuable insight into how artists think, work, and navigate their field.

We look forward to having you join us!
