Tired of surface-level conversations at crowded bars? Slow Burn is for you.

This is a space designed for real talk and genuine connection. No expectations, no pretense, just meaningful conversation, mindfulness, cozy vibes + specialty tea. 

Our theme: Finding home in unexpected places. 


What to expect:

Asana Okocha is a researcher, strategist, and somatic practitioner-in-training whose interests bridge psychology, community design, and healing justice. She is passionate about cultivating and supporting inclusive spaces that foster self-awareness, connection, and collective resilience. She is trained in peer support through the Zendo Project and is currently completing a two-year training in Hakomi, a mindfulness-centered approach to somatic therapy. In the past, she has hosted events like listening circles and joy ceremonies. She also offers peer support services to individuals navigating challenging experiences at festivals. Based in Richmond, she is practicing building community at a human pace.
