An Evening of Poetry: Celebrating Whittier's 1st Poet Laureate

​Please join me for a special evening celebrating my appointment as the first Poet Laureate of Whittier.

​This gathering is both a celebration and a thank you—to the community, mentors, friends, and fellow poets who have shaped my journey. The evening will feature readings by an incredible lineup of poets — Pam Concepcion, Juan Amador, Thea Taylor, and myself — along with light bites, non-alcoholic refreshments, and plenty of opportunities to connect.

​Burden of Proof, the non-alcoholic bottle shop owned by my friends Obreanna and Dean, is where my poetry workshop series, Poetry for the Masses, really evolved. To be able to have this celebration here means the world!

​Together, we’ll celebrate poetry, creativity, and the community that has brought us all together. I hope you’ll join us!
