​Canada – Korea Startup Connect: Pre-COMEUP Networking Mixer is a unique networking opportunity designed to foster collaboration between the Canadian and Korean startup ecosystems.
Co-hosted by YSpace (York University’s entrepreneurship hub), KITA (Korea International Trade Association), and The Invention Lab, this pre-COMEUP 2025 mixer aims to strengthen cross-border partnerships, share insights on global expansion, and highlight pathways for startups entering the North American market through Canada.

​YSpace(요크대학교 창업지원센터), KITA(한국무역협회), 그리고 The Invention Lab이 공동 주최하는 이번 프로그램은 COMEUP 2025를 앞두고 양국 스타트업 간의 협업 가능성을 높이고, 글로벌 시장 진출 전략을 논의하는 기회를 마련했습니다.

​YSpace is a startup incubator under York University (Canada) that supports entrepreneurs in growing and scaling their businesses through a community-driven approach. It offers a wide range of entrepreneurship programs, including mentorship, networking opportunities, and workshops designed to foster innovation and collaboration.

​Since its launch in 2018, YSpace has supported over 1,428 startups and created approximately 1,922 jobs across Canada. Through its global partnerships and networks, YSpace strives to build a world where innovation thrives and impactful ideas come to life.

​KITA, Korea International Trade Association(KITA) is the largest business organization in Korea with over 77,000 member companies. It was founded in 1946 to bolster the Korean economy through global trade. With a widely established network of 13 regional centers and 15 overseas centers(3 regional divisions) in major cities, KITA has consolidated its position as a leading business organization dedicated to assisting SMEs in gaining overseas market entry, particularly contributing to Korea's recent achievement of 1 trillion dollars in trade volume.

​The Invention Lab, a Korean early-stage investment firm and accelerator, has invested in and nurtured over 200 startups since 2017. Among these, 10% have successfully expanded into Southeast Asian markets such as Vietnam, Singapore, and Indonesia, securing top positions as the number one or two vertical platforms locally.

​The connection with Canada began when the Kloser team, which received early-stage investment, was selected by Y-Space and established a local subsidiary in Toronto. Through this event, The Invention Lab plans to formally begin its role as a bridge connecting Korea and Canada.
