Open Data Jam - Building On The City
Learn how open data (open.toronto.ca) works at the City of Toronto, see how businesses operate on and with open data, and meet the people behind both!
We host monthly events where you can find us (the Open Data team), Open Data users and enthusiasts, and dedicated public servants fostering and bolstering open data projects and usage.
For Toronto Tech Week, we're spotlighting businesses and entrepreneurs building in the civic space, and using open data to do it!
Here's what's we've got in mind:
Program Intro - we'll introduce ourselves and give an overview of the City of Toronto's Open Data program, how it currently runs, and how you can use it!
Business Spotlight - we'll highlight some awesome ways all kinds businesses have used Open Data and the impact they've had!
Brainstorm and Jam - you'll tell us how the program could be more useful to you, and we'll see how we can help!
Meet Each Other - entrepreneurs, technologists, public servants, and other civic enthusiasts will be in the room - make friends, share learnings, and find opportunities to collaborate!
We'll have some samosas on deck in case you get hungry - see you there!
Toronto Tech Week is a citywide celebration of the people building what’s next. From May 25–29, 2026, founders, investors, and builders come together for hundreds of community-led events across Toronto, connecting tens of thousands of people around Canadian tech. Torontotechweek.com
