Hack the Town 2026 is a two-day experience where Bay Area youth (15–25) design, build, and launch apps that reimagine what’s possible for their communities.
In partnership with Google Play, we're bringing together an unforgettable hackathon filled with creativity, coding, and connection.
Whether you’re a seasoned coder or just starting out, you’ll be part of a supportive environment with mentorship, collaboration, and cash prizes!
The Challenge
On Day 1, you’ll be placed on a team. Your mission: design and prototype an android mobile app with a focus on community and social justice.

How to Prepare
Bring a computer and power cord
Use any mobile development platform you like (e.g., Unity, Flutter, Mobile Angular UI)
New to coding? No problem! Try App Inventor — it’s beginner-friendly and was used by many teams last year
