Carbon Removal: Progress, politics, and the path forward
Kick off New York Climate Week with a candid breakfast conversation featuring leaders from across carbon removal, climate policy, and environmental advocacy. Together, we'll tackle the biggest questions facing the carbon removal industry today — from the impact of AI to the shifting political landscape and what it will take to build a broad coalition for the technologies the world will need to meet its climate goals.
Opening remarks for the conversation will be given by Hawaii's Senator Brian Schatz.
Panel discussion will include:
Giana Amador, Executive Director, Carbon Removal Alliance
Jeremy Harrell, CEO, Clearpath
Joanna Klitzke, Head of Market Development, Frontier
John Mimikakis, Vice President, Environmental Defense Fund
Cristina Shoffner, Co-Founder, CleanEcon
The conversation will be moderated by Ella Nilsen, communications advisor and former climate journalist at CNN and then Vox
Following the discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with speakers during an audience Q&A. This closed-door event is designed for journalists, policymakers, industry leaders, and others looking to better understand the carbon removal landscape.
