Speaker Bio
Krzysztof is the CEO of London Initiative for Safe AI (LISA), the largest AI Safety hub in Europe and home to organisations such as Apollo Research, IAPS and Tarbell, as well as training programmes like ARENA, LASR and Pivotal.
Krzysztof studied mathematics and computer science at the University of Oxford, where he subsequently completed a PhD in theoretical aspects of quantum computing. He was also the president of the Federation of Polish Student Societies in the UK. After his PhD, Krzysztof worked as a consultant at Oliver Wyman, where he focused on public policy and technology advisory, working amongst others on the rollout of the UK Online Safety Act.
Krzysztof pivoted his career in early 2025, completing the AGI Strategy course from BlueDot Impact. He then worked with Toby Ord on the consequences of inference scaling in reasoning models as part of the GovAI Fellowship.
Abstract
In this Q&A, Krzysztof will outline his background in quantum computing, a career in consulting, and a subsequent pivot to AI Safety. He will share exciting insights into the operations of London Initiative for Safe AI (LISA), the principal AI Safety hub in the UK, as well as talk about the biggest bottlenecks in this field - missing skills, organisations and projects. Following Krzysztof's introduction, we will open the floor to questions from the audience.
