PEOPLE OF THE SUN: Black folks collaborating on climate justice over a cup of solar-powered coffee (literally)
"People of the Sun" is a gathering of changemakers who believe that building a more just, sustainable, and sovereign future starts with building relationships. We'll connect over cups of solar-powered coffee to exchange ideas, and explore opportunities to collaborate and catalyze meaningful change in our communities.
This space is for Black leaders working in climate justice, sustainability, clean energy, and community empowerment, as well as curious community members who want to get involved. We also welcome non-Black folks who fit those same descriptions, but with the added caveat that they also genuinely love Black people.
We're intentionally gathering at The Shrine of the Black Star in East Durham, grounding our conversations about climate justice in a community that's already centered on Black culture, creativity, and collective power.
Come as you are. Bring your ideas, your curiosity, and your commitment to the work. Let's see what we can build together.
Because Black folk have always been the people of the sun.
