Europe 2031 - What Getting AI Wrong Means for Us (Brussels AGI Collective)
Join us on Wednesday, 24 June at 18:00 at Commons Hub Brussels for an evening on what happens if Europe gets AI wrong, and what it could still do differently.
🇪🇺 Europe 2031 - What Getting AI Wrong Means for Us
Europe 2031 is a scenario built by a team of researchers and technologists that extrapolates the trajectory of AI from 2025 through the end of the decade.
Following these current trends reveals a stark trajectory: a Europe that misjudges the velocity of AI, underestimates its impact, and responds at a fraction of the scale required. By 2031, this inaction leaves the continent economically sidelined, politically diminished, and dependent on whoever happens to occupy the White House.
That outcome isn't fixed. The window to change course is still open, though closing fast. However, charting a better path calls for the most ambitious political agenda in the history of post-war Europe.
We'll be joined by two of the authors, Alex Petropoulos, Chief of Staff, and Daan Juijn, Director of Research, both at Arq Foundation. They'll walk us through the scenario and discuss what Europe can still do to change course.
