About Event

For a lot of folks in tech, work isn't just what you do, it’s who you are. Your title, company, output. It feels like identity. Until it doesn’t.

Whether you’ve been laid off, are thinking about leaving, or simply looked up one day and realized you don’t know who you are outside of work, this conversation is for you.

Roberta Dombrowski and Amy Santee explore what it looks like to separate your worth from your work and start building an identity that belongs to you.

What we’ll cover:

  • Why folks in tech are especially vulnerable to tying identity to work

  • What the loss of your role actually triggers and why it hits harder than it should

  • How to start building a sense of self that doesn't depend on a job title

About your Hosts

Roberta Dombrowski is a career counselor and coach for tech professionals who refuse to shrink and want to design work that honors who they are, not just what they can do. She has over a decade of experience working at the intersection of learning, research, and organizational design. In 2023, she stepped down from her executive role to support clients who are done following the corporate script and ready to design something of their own, whether that means building a business on the side, going fully independent, or creating a portfolio of work that reflects the full range of who they are.
