Women Changemakers Gathering in Malta
A safe place for women and non-binary changemakers (and aspiring ones) to meet one another;
A small-scale gathering where you can genuinely connect — and actually spend time working alongside one another;
A community where you don't just network, but show up as you are and participate equally as an agent of change;
A space to share what you're working on, exchange ideas, offer support, and spark new collaborations;
A tribe you can return to — to build trust, intergenerational friendships, and a shared sense of momentum.
This is what this gathering is about.
Co-hosted by Carmen Chan of Girls Be Change, Petra Tamas of Wellnest, and Claudia Calleja of Woman Unclouded, this Women Changemakers Gathering is an intimate afternoon for women changemakers and aspiring changemakers to slow down, connect, and be heard. This time, we're excited to include a creative writing workshop, “Writing Below the Surface: An Excavation of Fear, Courage and the Stories We Carry,” facilitated by journalist Claudia Calleja, giving us a guided space to put our stories into words. This marks Girls Be Change's second gathering in Malta, following our first on June 13 this year.
The workshop is a chance to set aside time to sit quietly, without the noise of our usual thoughts, and transform what surfaces into words. Through this process, we get clarity on the narratives of our own stories, and make space for the inner work of understanding ourselves — so we can connect more genuinely with others in the world.
This space is for you if you're craving genuine connection, if you want to be seen and heard by a community of women changemakers who get it — and if you believe that meaningful change begins with authentic conversation.
Limited to 15 participants. An intimate gathering built around connection and creative writing — not a panel or presentation.
Language: English
This gathering is open to women/womxn and non-binary changemakers (and aspiring ones).
What is the Women Changemakers Community Series?
The idea began in the summer of 2023 when two changemakers in Hong Kong, Carmen Chan (Girls Be Change) and Dorothy Lam (Dream Impact), questioned and envisioned what an ideal community looks like. We need a safe place among women changemakers to have organic meetups, intentional conversations, and idea exchange with social ease — to find inspiration and encouragement from each other, and build authentic friendships and support networks.
The first Women Changemakers Community Gathering was held in Hong Kong on March 8, 2024 at International Women's Day. Ever since then, Girls Be Change has partnered with 40+ organizations and gathered 350+ women changemakers in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Kenya, Tanzania, Denmark, Malta, Peru, and the US. With 25+ gatherings around the globe, a vibrant community of global women changemakers has been formed and connected — raising questions, exchanging ideas, and celebrating wins.
