Philly Bitdevs

​Philly BitDevs is a socratic seminar on Bitcoin with a math track. Every BitDevs takes on the strengths of its hosts. Ours is mathematics and cryptography.

​Conviction in Bitcoin rests on two pillars. The protocol pillar covers the bitcoindev mailing list, BIPs, Script, mempool policy and soft-fork debates. The math pillar covers modular arithmetic, finite fields, elliptic curves and secp256k1, hash functions, ECDSA, Schnorr and MuSig2. We work through both so you can check Bitcoin's security claims yourself instead of taking them on faith.

​"Don't trust, verify" means being able to follow the proof. No PhD required. Math isn't hard; it just takes time, and it goes faster in a room full of people working the same problems.
