Sound Check: A Quiet Sound for Killer Whales
Quiet Sound's Annual Update brings together mariners, researchers, and regulators for a look at the program's progress protecting Southern Resident killer whales in the Salish Sea. This year's update covers results from the Admiralty Inlet voluntary slowdown, new thermal imaging and acoustic detection capabilities, and emerging best practices for vessel operators navigating shared waters with whales. Attendees will hear directly from the Quiet Sound Leadership Committee on what's working, what's next, and how the maritime industry continues to adapt in real time to protect this iconic species.
