midweek hustle after hours: house, $5 beer, 50c wings
so here's the deal.
for the past week, i’ve been walking around the marina and north beach looking for the right spot to host a very specific kind of night. the vision was to bring that effortless, golden-hour rooftop energy straight into a classic neighborhood bar.
the catch? i pitched this without actually knowing how to dj.
but the blue light loved the idea and gave me the green light. so for the last few days, i’ve been locked in with a 2-channel deck, making sure i can actually deliver a seamless mix and avoid trainwrecking live in front of everyone.
this isn't about an intense club performance or a forced dance floor. it’s entirely about people like us: builders, creatives, and music enjoyers. good company, zero ego, and a relaxed communal vibe. to make it a completely bulletproof excuse to come out on a wednesday, we convinced the bar to run an insane promo for us: $0.50 wings and $5 beers (literally any kind, bottle or draft) all night long.
i’m jumping on the decks at 6pm sharp. i'm guaranteed 30 minutes, and we might stretch it to 60 if the room is feeling it.
music-wise, i'm strictly playing airy & melodic house. i’m keeping it electronic, unforced, and leaning heavily into that lighter, rolling, minimalist, and airy sound. i haven't mapped out a rigid tracklist.. i'm just going to read the room, keep the energy breezy, and see where the night takes us.
whether the set is a flawless groove or a live learning experience, the drinks are cheap, the music will be laid-back, and the company will be top-tier.
come hang out and help set the tone.
